Thanks for attending East Greenbush Kiwanis' Second Annual Comedy Show!

Thank you to Tina Giorgi and Deric Harrington for their hilarious acts. We raised more than $2,500 and attracted 105 audience members. Special thanks to 88.3 The Saint, The Advertiser, Greenbush Life, Price Chopper, All Over Albany, Times Union and YNN for publicity. Thank you also to Slidin' Dirty, the caterer that provided awesome hors d'ouevres and desserts.

Skip-a-Meal in April

Some time during the month of April, each Kiwanian is asked to skip one meal and donate what that meal would cost to Kiwanis International.  You decide when you want to do this.  You decide how much you want to donate.
$5.00 = 7 meals for children
$50.00 = 10 children's books
$100.00 = 5 pairs of children's shoes
$175.00 = 1 after-school program for a child in need

Fall 2011/Spring 2012

Members were busy last fall. We raised more than $200 in September for the Pediatric Lyme Disease Foundation.
We donated to flood relief efforts in Schoharie and showed our support by attending the installation dinner for Schoharie Kiwanis. A few even cleaned out a basement affected by flooding n Rotterdam Junction.
We also provided food for a Thanksgiving dinner at St. Paul's Center and for the food pantry at CoNSERNS-U, both in Rensselaer.
Other projects have included food delivery to Missing Link Street Ministry in Troy and a winter clothing collection for CoNSERNS-U and Genet Elementary School in East Greenbush.
In the winter, we sold bells at Crossgates Mall to benefit the pediatric trauma unit at Albany Medical Center, talked to the public about Kiwanis at Becker's Farm and distributed information on childhood asthma at Winterfest. We also put on a successful comedy show and hosted a popular New Orleans-themed divisional.
